Steven Ceulemans, Sc.D.

Steven Ceulemans joined the Baton Rouge Health District in 2019 where he leads organizational strategy, budget, governance, and partnerships. He holds a Doctor of Science degree from Tulane University, a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, and a Master’s degree in International Business from VLEKHO Business School in Brussels. He also served as a Science & Tech Policy Fellow to the National Academies in Washington, DC. In previous positions, he led the Department of Laboratories at North Oaks Health System, served as VP of Innovation for the Birmingham Business Alliance, and as Commercialization Director for the New Orleans BioInnovation Center. Steven is a native of Belgium and has 20 years of combined experience in health and life science research, technology development, (innovation) clusters, management, and policy.

Katie Pritchett, M.S.W.

Katie Pritchett joined the Health District in 2022. Her focus is aligning day to day operations with the priorities of the district and key stakeholders. Prior to joining the Health District, Katie served as the Senior Vice President of Impact and Operations for Capital Area United Way. She was responsible for the development, execution and implementation of organizational strategies focused on community impact, community investments, partnerships and collaborations. Katie has experience in management, program design, grant administration and facilitation, and community collaborations. Katie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Master of Social Work degree from University of Houston, Graduate College of Social Work where she concentrated on Leadership, Administration and Advocacy. She also has a Green Belt Certification in Lean Six Sigma through Baton Rouge General.

Kate joined the Health District in 2022. As the Program Manager, Kate is responsible for supporting the successful implementation of current District programs, engaging partner and stakeholder groups, coordinating regional innovation initiatives, and developing communication to advance the Baton Rouge Health District’s mission. Kate has previous work experience in state, nonprofit, and payor health sectors. Her diverse professional portfolio inspired her passion for forging collaborative public health efforts that bridge health disciplines and systems in order to improve population health outcomes.  Over the last five years, she has activated public health strategies around self-measured blood pressure monitoring, food prescription, and community health worker support services in Louisiana communities. Kate is working to achieve her Master of Public Health degree from Louisiana State University – Shreveport and is expected to graduate in August 2023. Kate has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in Health Promotion & Wellness and Business Administration. 

Korey Patty

Korey Patty joined the Health District in 2022. His focus lies on coordinating resources and facilitating collaboration within the south Louisiana health and life sciences industry, through collaboration with numerous coalition partners. Prior to serving as GCHSC RECO, Korey served as the Executive Director of Feeding Louisiana, the state’s association of Louisiana’s 5 Feeding America food Banks. He is experienced in business and economic development for the state of Louisiana, as well as in management, public policy and advocacy across various industries.
